The Hashima Chinese Cleaver is a knife made for a Pro. A super sharp blade, stainless and simply beautiful. The handle is made of solidified wood using a special production process. The wood is naturally unique and can therefore lead to slight variations in design and colour. This is what makes the knife unique, because you will never see a knife like this anywhere else again!
This knife is a real showstopper. Originally made for the Asian kitchen, the Chinese cleaver has long since become a favourite in the American kitchen. No wonder, after all this exotic model is extremely versatile and very handy.
What is special is its unusually wide blade, which is about twice as long as it is high. You can use it to cut or chop tendons and bones effortlessly. Even more: the front part of the blade is extremely sharp and is used by professional and hobby cooks for processing fish and meat. A powerful knife that enriches your knife set and allows you to create new preparation variations.
This collection is named after Japanese islands and each knife is as beautiful as the islands themselves. Characteristic of the WASABI Island Special Collection are the colorful handles, which are well balanced to ensure long, comfortable and fatigue-free working.
But the blades are also a real eye-catcher. They consist of a VG10 Core, covered by a 67-layer high quality Japanese Damascus steel. A vacuum heat process is used to harden the blade, which results in a hardness of 60 ± 2 HRC. In the end, each knife gets a hand sharpening finish. This ensures a long-lasting sharpness, which takes your cooking to a new level and increases your pleasure.

For optimal, long lasting sharpness we recommend you storing your knives using a knife block and sharpening your knives regularly using a whetstone or sharpening steel. Shipping to remote areas (e.g. Alaska and Hawaii) can take 4-8 weeks.
